Alianza para la Conservación y el Desarrollo.

Alianza para la Conservación y el Desarrollo (ACD) is a Panamanian, non-profit nongovernmental organization based in Panama City. ACD is a development organization that was founded in 2002 by a group of young Panamanian professionals concerned about environmental and social issues affecting vulnerable communities and ecosystems. ACD works tirelessly to promote environmental conservation, and community empowerment through scientific research, productive initiatives, and advocacy projects.

ACD's mission is to "Promote conservation and alternative development through the defense and empowerment of Panamanian Society to make it more just and environmentally responsible."

ACD works with several indigenous, Afro-descendant, and peasant groups throughout Panama, assisting these groups with community development and environmental justice work. At times, ACD also assists indigenous groups and other vulnerable populations in Panama in bringing complaints before international bodies, such as the Inter-American Commission
on Human Rights.

ACD welcomes everyone to join our efforts to to build better societies and preserve the integrity of our ecosystems.
